The facility was modified to include continuous monitoring of influent, pre-filtered and finished water with automatic alarms added to alert Operators of pending problems, and automated controls to shut down the plant at pre-set levels of turbidity.
Improvements included continuous chlorine residual monitoring to ensure adequate chemical dosing. The improvement plan for the facility was to convert the existing bag filtration to pre-filtration units, the addition of micro-membrane filters approved by the CDPHE, and conversion from gas chlorine to liquid hypochlorite.
WestWater Engineering prepared the Plans and Specifications for procurement of the new membrane treatment equipment, and the final design with Plans and Specifications for equipment installation, including processing piping and controls modifications, improvements to the existing backwash pond, building expansion, and submittals to the CDPHE for construction approval.
