WestWater Engineering assisted the Town of Paonia with finalization of the 201 Wastewater Management Plan which included reassessment of cost effective I/I rehabilitation, Value Engineering of the previously preferred plan, modifications to the design flow and add-on unit processes at a future aerated lagoon wastewater treatment plant such as on-site storage and/or land application of treated wastewater that would also need to meet seasonal ammonia limits.
The project included numerous iterations of Preliminary Effluent Limits (PEL’s) that are a combination of water quality based limits and antidegradation based average concentrations, along with evaluation of the DFLOW model used by CDPHE.
