The CDPHE advised the District that the cartridge filter manufacture utilized at the WTP had recently failed to conduct challenge testing of the existing units to demonstrate required log-removals of Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
WestWater Engineering assisted the District with a design of an add-on second-stage final filtration units to comply with filtration treatment requirements.
The design incorporated an additional raw water booster pump that is activated once the combined differential pressure across both stages of filtration reached the limits of existing pump capabilities.
