WestWater conducted comprehensive biological surveys along the proposed Baxter Pass Power Line in 2013. This power line runs along Mesa County Road 201 (the Baxter Pass Road) for approximately 11.8 miles within the Grand Junction Field Office.
Full biological surveys were conducted, and GJFO surveys included SSS plants (Camissonia eastwoodiae, Amsonia jonesii, Eriogonum contortum, Astragalus musiniensis, and Lygodesmia doloresensis), raptors (including Burrowing Owls, Golden Eagles, Long-eared Owls, and Ferruginous Hawks), and other wildlife (including white-tailed prairie dog, kit fox, and other special status species).
