WestWater conducted comprehensive biological surveys along the proposed WEP II pipeline in 2011 and 2013. This pipeline runs through four BLM Field Offices, including the Moab and Vernal Field Offices in Utah, and the Grand Junction and White River Field Offices in Colorado.
The pipeline is approximately 94.69 miles long. Full biological surveys were conducted, and GJFO surveys included SSS plants (Camissonia eastwoodiae, Amsonia jonesii, Eriogonum contortum, Astragalus musiniensis, and Lygodesmia doloresensis), raptors (including Burrowing Owls, Golden Eagles, Long-eared Owls, and Ferruginous Hawks), and other wildlife (including white-tailed prairie dog, kit fox, and other special status species).
WestWater wrote and is in the 6th year of implementing the reclamation and monitoring plan for Enterprise MAPL’s WEP II Pipeline ROW. The approximately 95-mile-long pipeline ROW disturbed approximately 1,479 acres across five counties in two states within four BLM field offices. WestWater is responsible for monitoring and managing reclamation success on the BLM portions of the ROW.
