Wastewater Engineering was contracted by the Bureau of Reclamation to provide an evaluation of the Project 7 Water Treatment Plant’s raw water supply.
Project 7 is the largest water treatment plant on the Western Slope with a maximum capacity of 28 mgd. Raw water is obtained from two separate sources and flows through a series of canals, pipelines, and storage reservoirs to the water treatment plant.
Evaluation included a study of pipeline and canal capacity, operation of canal diversion structures during the winter, potential for enlargement of reservoirs, and a study of the effects of conveyance and the storage system on raw water turbidity.
